VAGINAPLASTY

This aesthetic vaginal surgery aims to tighten loose muscles and tissues and remove excess vaginal skin to narrow the diameter of the vagina resulting in a smaller and tighter opening and vaginal canal. Women who have laxity in the vagina and are not pregnant are the ideal candidates to undergo this procedure.

The vaginaplasty procedure is performed under general anaesthetic by the surgeon in approximately an hour. The vagina muscle at the back of the vagina is shortened and stitched together with soluble stitches. The surgeon implements a laser, scalpel and stitches to perform the surgery. The contraction is completed in full depth of the vagina providing maximal feeling from an erect penis. Excessive skin and unwanted vaginal lining is removed, tightening vaginal muscles and soft tissue around the vagina. The surgeon may request the patient remain in hospital overnight for observation following the surgery.

Following the surgery patients may experience redness, swelling, bruising and bleeding. Patients may experience discomfort, however this can be managed with pain medication. Patients will require a week off work to recover comfortably, it may take up to two days for the patient to resume walking.

The vaginaplasty procedure most commonly restores the vagina and internal structures to the patient’s original state before pregnancy.
