About

Dr Damian Marucci is a leading plastic surgeon. Dr Marucci’s practice is based in Sydney’s south and specialises in all types of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. His particular interests are reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the breast, facelift, rhinoplasty, eye lift surgery, tummy tuck and skin cancer surgery. He is known for his friendly manner, his compassion and his uncompromising pursuit of surgical excellence.

Dr Marucci has degrees in Medicine, Surgery and Arts for the University of Sydney. He is one of the few plastic surgeons with a PhD, a testament to his pioneering research in the field of plastic surgery. After completing his plastic surgery training in Sydney, Dr Marucci completed a fellowship in Plastic Surgery in Oxford. He then completed further fellowships in craniofacial surgery and cosmetic surgery in London before returning to Sydney as one of the most highly trained specialists in town.

Dr Marucci has appointments at St George Private Hospital and he is a medical director of the Aesthetic Day Surgery. He consults in both Kogarah and Miranda, in the heart of the Sutherland Shire. Dr Marucci is a former secretary of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, a governing body for Plastic and reconstructive surgeons.

Dr Marucci is heavily involved with training the next generation of plastic surgeons. He is the founder of the Plastic Surgery Journal Club which is run out of St Vincent’s Hospital. Dr Marucci is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. He supervises student research projects as well as being a demonstrator in the surgical anatomy component of the Masters of Surgery program.

Dr Marucci firmly believes in helping those in need. Dr Marucci is on staff at St George Public Hospital where is an integral part of the Head and Neck Cancer service. He treats public patients with skin cancers, facial trauma or who require breast reconstruction after cancer. Dr Marucci is also a craniofacial surgeon at the Westmead Children’s Hospital Craniofacial Unit. This is one of the busiest craniofacial units in the country and treats patients with challenging anomalies of facial development. Dr Marucci spends time every year in Samoa performing volunteer surgery with Interplast Australia.
