I thought I was in good hands getting pins and a plate put in my hand after a very bad injury with some wrist damage also. He put me on full capacity for work/ full duties 2 months after the surgery when I couldn’t even lift a litre of milk. He explained it was so I can give things a go and strengthen it. I was still unable to do basic tasks at work and yet 5 months after surgery/the accident he still put me as fit for full duties with full capacity. Where as I still struggle with tasks and get pain every day still! I’m very upset this will impact my claim hugely. So I’m trying to get a second opinion before a work cover conciliation meeting to take me off payments. Would have choosen a different surgeon now realising he’s on the insurers side of things and trying to minimise my claim for an accident at work that wasn’t my fault. Pins and the plate that were supposed stay permanently are causeing me pain because one pin is very close to my rust and hurts to move to a certain side, pretty sure this could have been prevented with a different surgeon!
